Archive Polo meets vintage military gear.
Following on from its “Hi Tech” relaunch, Polo Ralph Lauren has now announced a new capsule of one-of-one upcycled pieces. The collection will be produced from hand-sourced vintage Polo pieces, which will be combined with vintage military styles. All of the pieces are dissected and reassembled by the New York-based design team, before being turned into unique items in a small factory in Brooklyn.
The capsule will consist of six different silhouettes including three shirts — Rugby, Military and Oxford — as well as Bomber and Army jackets and a Military pant. Accompanying the apparel, a bucket hat and messenger bag will also release. Other additional features include exclusive Polo patches and tie fabrics, while all the pieces can be customized with extra patches and pins.
The upcycled collection is available exclusively at a special pop-up in Selfridges, which will run from September 7 until September 21. Visitors to the pop-up will also be able to personalize other Polo pieces with patches.
